It has been hundred years now for the gigantic Titanic ship to wreck and sink and what can be as best a means to bring down the memories of the ship back other than the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. The Rolls Royce is a car that was built for a man behind the making and idea of the Titanic and it has today reached 101 years of glory and great memories. The car is to be exhibited at the Newcastle car show along with some other classic vintages like the 1930s Derby Bentley, some original Minis and a Morris Minor in full GPO livery etc.

The Rolls Royce was made in the year 1911 just a little before the launch of the ship and the purpose of building this car was for Harland and Wolff chairman Lord Pirrie. It is in fact, for the first time after 85 years that the car will be back to its birth place, to Northern Ireland. The best attractions of the car will be its original nameplate that bears the name ‘Titanic ghost’ and the family crests of Lord Pirrie.

There have been, however, a number of make-overs of the car when it went to another owner’s hand after the death of Lord Pirrie. It took the form of an ambulance and then a breakdown truck and finally the present appearance after a renovation in the 1950s. so, the three days Newcastle Car Show that have already started on last Friday will be a must visit for the admirers of the Titanic and the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost car.

The popular car Rolls-Royce Corniche from the makers Rolls-Royce Motors manufactured between the year 2000 – 2002 is a four-seater luxury car. This two-door made in UK car has a cabriolet body and is one of the flagship cars from the house of Rolls-Royce.

This particular model is the fifth Rolls-Royce Corniche model in the series and it was one of the most expensive cars of its time in the year 2000 with a price tag of US$ 359,900.

The 1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Jonckheere Coupe comes across as the most memorable Rolls-Royce of all time. It makes most other car Rolls-Royces’ look obsolete by its sheer size and stature. The Jonckheere Coupe has an imposing length and menacing curves. Its oversize grill makes most other cars look old-fashioned and boring.

The remarkable car which came during the art Deco movement of the 1930s had a modern style and mathematical geometric shapes contemporary of its time. Because of its circular doors the car is also known as the “The Round Door Rolls”. The design which originated in the Rolls-Royce factory in Great Britain was shipped to Belgium where it reached Henri Jonckheere who along with his sin was renowned in entire Europe for making car and bus bodies.

The Jonckheeres made an extravagant body which eventually won the ‘Prix de Cannes’ award. The car has oval doors and sliding left and right vents. It also happens to be the only few Phantom I which had modified grill. Max Obie restored the car with silk headliner and seats that could be folded into beds.

After being resurrected the car was sold at an auction in the 1980s and was procured by a Japanese collector who retained it for 20 years. The car eventually came back to U.S. in pieces and Tired Iron works in California were assigned the task of putting the pieces together.

At the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours, it won the Lucius Beebe Trophy for the finest Rolls-Royce along with the hearts of many a people. The car has also been spotted at various other Concours events like Measowbrook and Ameila Island.

If there is one car that is a pride for the owner till date then it is none other than the Rolls-Royce Limited. This vintage car was first manufactured by an aero-engine manufacturing company in 1914.

It got its name from its founders named Charles Stewart Rolls and Henry Royce, who developed this car during a partnership in 1904. After Rolls-Royce Limited, two successors came in, one in 1987 Rolls- Royce plc and the other in 1973 Rolls-Royce Motors.

It was later in 1973, when the Rolls-Royce Limited car division was separated and was divided into Rolls-Royce Motors. Rolls-Royce has its headquarters in England, UK.
