The year 1908 marked the history of automobile industry with the introduction of the Model T car. It became very popular as it made travel easy for middle class Americans due to its affordability.

Ford introduced a lot of innovation in the vehicle such as the use of assembly line production in place of individual handcrafting. The first lot of production of Model T was completed on August 12, 1908 and was set to the market on September 27, 1908.

By May 26, 1927, over 15 million Model T Ford rolled off the assembly line. In fact, this was first such vehicle that was mass-produced on assembly lines. Moreover, its parts were completely interchangeable and it was produced for the middle class people.

The designer of the Ford Model T car was Ford Model T car who designed it along with two Hungarian designers namely Joseph A. Galamb and Eugene Farkas.

The engine of the Model T car was a 177-cubic-inch four-cylinder engine mounted on front. The engine produced 20 hp for a top speed of 40–45 mph. The engine had a unique detachable head that make valve job service easier. And interestingly, the engine was able to run on petrol, kerosene, or ethanol.

It is an intermediate vehicle and has been named after an Italian city, Turin.

Initially it was the upscale version of Ford Fairlane, an intermediate car built by Ford during the 1960s. The year 1968 saw Ford retaining the name Fairlane for the base models that had lower trim as compared to those cars which bore the Torino name. Torino during this time was considered to be a sub-series of the Fairlane.

The year 1970 saw Torino becoming the primary brand for Ford’s intermediate cars, whereas the Fairlane became the sub-series for Torino. The next year in 1971, Ford completely withdrew the name Fairlane and all intermediates from Ford henceforth were called Torino. It is quite remarkable how Torino managed to overtake its predecessor.

Most of the Torinos were traditional cars and the general trend with the popular vehicles sedans with 4 doors and a 4 door hardtops. But Ford didn’t confine itself with this vehicle and also created some really high performance and powerful versions of this car, by adding large and powerful engines to them. Some of these engines included the likes of 429 cu in (7 L) “Cobra-Jet” and 428 cu in (7 L) engines. Ford has classified these cars as muscle cars and the Torino was also chosen by Ford as the base to enter into NASCAR and it has very rich and successful racing legacy.

The Ford Motor Company started to create their postwar automobiles by late 1940s. By 1950, many new and exciting changes were made to those vehicles. The era in which the antique 1950 Ford coupe was designed, the United States was winding down from the Second World War.

The antique 1950 Ford coupe was a double door car with a sloped and short roof. The Business coupe had room for three passengers and was available with a deluxe V-8 100 horsepower engine for $1419 or either a deluxe six-cylinder 95 horsepower engine for $1333. The only difference between the Business coupe and the six-passenger Club coupe was the utilization of the free space. The rear seat was removed in the Business coupe so that it can afford the businessman with additional cargo space.

The Business coupe was just available in the deluxe basic trim package, which meant that the person driving the coupe was the only one to have an armrest on the door. Instead of a ring, the horn would be a button. All in all, the 1950 Ford Business coupe was basically a business vehicle.

While the six-passenger Custom Deluxe Club coupe was an ideal pick for family. The Deluxe Club coupe had two full bench seats, arm rests on the doors, chrome trim, two sun visors, a semicircular chrome horn ring, chrome around the window moldings and chrome trim strips. The Club coupes were available with the same cylinder choice as the Business coupe. Because of the additional design and added chrome, the cost of the Club coupe was from $1511 to $1595.

Cars are our guilty pleasures because we need cars for work, only if: we use them for business purposes solely, when you buy a car and change it and win some prices with its help. Otherwise, you are simply buying a car in order to drive it and feel comfortable or to show it around. Anyway, you want it to stay hot/new/cool as long as possible and we know how to achieve this goal:

ask

I mean read about your car, visit numerous forums and get consultation how to change it, how to maintain it and etc.;

accessories

Buy stylish accessories. It goes without saying, they can’t be cheap, but you are not going to spend a couple of days in this car. What is more, such minor details as a cup of a mobile phone holder can make your driving very comfortable;

hubcaps

Think of changing your old hubcaps, I am sure they are old-dated and have already seen half of the USA. And pay attention to numerous sales and discounts for example, for Ford hubcaps;

interior

If you want your car to look like a star always take care of its interior. It should be always clean and tidy;

exterior

It goes without saying, that driving can’t gone unnoticed so most likely your car has numerous scratches, in order to get rid of them you have to try such procedures as polishing and waxing and the last one …

painting

But remember, this operation is only welcomed when nothing else works!!!

In general, love your car and take care of it )))

Their connection goes well with their age and they are liked for their class-apart appeal and antique design. Yeah, both old wines and vintage cars are loved for their early and ancient flavor. Older they are, better it is, one such typical vintage car design was well modeled by the Fort T.

Much to the delight, of then Englishmen, Ford Motor Company manufactured this archaic car from 1908 through 1927. The Ford T indeed became the rage in 1908 for its reasonable price. It was touted as the most influential car of the twentieth century, which had put America on wheels by being the first affordable automobile.

It almost became a cult after being widely used in the Hollywood films like The Flivver King and the Absent-minded Professor. Why it became so popular, was partly due to the adoption of assemble line production in place of conventional handcrafting and partly for the payment of worker wages in proportion to the cost of the car.

I would like to dedicate my first post in this blog to this very interesting English car – Ford Consul Capri.

Consul Capri was introduced to English public in year 1961. It was proclaimed as the “first personal car from Ford of Great Britain” – basically Consul Capri is a 2-doors coupe version of of the Ford Classic saloon, the first British Ford model. It was designed by Roy Brown, the designer of notorious Edsel model. During the construction and designing, Consul Capri had an internal name “Sunbird”, which meant that it is some kind of hybrid of Ford Thunderbird and the Sunliner.

The vehicle was quit unusual for that time because of such features like disc brakes, four headlights, variable speed wipers, dimming dashboard lights, and a cigar lighter. Consul Capri was equipped with 1340 cc Straight-4 ohv engine, which was replaced in August 1962 by its enhanced variant with 1498 cc.

The first 200 Capris were hand-made left-hand-drive cars for continental Europe. During all the lifetime only 500 cars were sold. Their production was to expensive and retail price was rather high too. Ford Consul Capri was discontinued in July 1964 – after 2,5 years of production only.
