The Ferrari F40 Car was manufactured by Ferrari between the years 1987 to 1992. The F40 is a two-door coupe which succeeded the Ferrari 288 GTO. During the heydays of its production, the car had the distinction of being the fastest, most powerful and the most expensive car of its time. The company had intended to produce 400 Ferraris but ended up with a final figure of 1315.
The car was a vision of Enzo Ferrari who wanted to establish the supremacy of the company in the field of international motorsport. The sports car which combined all the best known technologies of Ferrari made its debut on the 40th anniversary of the company. The F40 relied on its shape and not power for its speed. The car had a smooth airflow because of the reduced frontal area. It had a 2.9L turbocharged V8 engine.
