Lamborghini has never failed to create ripples since times immemorial. But how many of us actually know how the Jarama S was reformed to get the new look.
Bob Wallace, in 1972, used the originally mounted engine 40537 with chassis no. 10350 to develop a masterpiece. The engine was moved few inches to the rear to achieve a 50/50 weight balance and hence the new central transmission tunnel and dashboard. While the body panels were changed to aluminium, the windows were changed to plastic.
With the radiator air extractors in the hood and lowered headlights, the car got a new surprising look. The special car was equipped with four ventilated disc brakes, low back Miura seats and steel roll over cage for that extra safety.
Since the unnecessary luxury in the interiors was entirely ripped off, the car came out to be lighter than a stock unit and became faster. The special car was first sold in Saudi Arabian dessert and was then shifted to UK.
Now, we all know that every masterpiece has a history.
