The Porsche 911 is an illustrious German made sports car which is very popular for its distinctive and durable design. The car was introduced in the autumn of 1963 and has undergone several modifications over the years to better suit the demands of rallying and car competitions. The car has managed to win several awards and has to its credit 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. The Porsche 911 Carrera RS models are considered to be the all time classics among the 911s.The abbreviation RS stands for Rennsport in German which means race sport in English.
The yellow 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS which is up for sale was supplied to Lord Hesketh and was later on given to James Hunt so that he could use it for his daily transport and was a part of his remuneration. The chassis number 99 of this 35 year old car is still in excellent condition and still retains its original gearbox and engine. The exceptional car has just done 30,000 miles. James Hunt has enjoyed the experience of driving this rare car which has managed to appear in almost every European Formula 1 paddocks.
The car is presently with Josh Sadler at Autofarm in Oxordshire who is planning a detailed strip down keeping its originality intact.
