The British Motor Corporation came into being in 1952 with the merger of two great British motor companies namely, Nuffield Motors and Austin.
Due to the unrest after the Second World War and the Suez Crisis, which resulted in shortage of petroleum in Britain, there was a need for a high mileage car in the market. This is when Leonard Lord, chairman of British Motor Corporation went to engineer Alec Issigonis to design a car that could compete with the high-mileage German import cars.
The Nissan Sunny came on the scene as the Datsun 1000 in the year 1966. The production of the small car which was manufactured by Nissan was stopped in 2004 in Japan. However, its production is still on for the markets of Africa and America. The models that came up later began to be known as the Nissan Sentra in the US. The Sunny is known as Nissan Tsuru in Latin America.
In the spring of 1947, Ferry Porsche expressed his desire to build a car that he himself would like. This is when the concept of Porsche 356 was ideated. This car was build using Volkswagen components and was initially named VW-Sports and got a construction number 356, which later was included in the name.
Mini is considered to be the most well-liked British car and was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation from 1959 to 2000. Being a star of the 60s, the car was a benchmark for many other car manufacturers during its time. The Mini was also ranked second as the most significant car of the past century in an international poll. Sir Alec Issigonis is credited for the wonder design of this revolutionary car.
With an incredible number of 748,904 cars sold by 2005 end, the MX-5 is among the best selling sports cars of the world. The MX-5 was designed on the similar lines of Triumph Spitfire, MG Midget, and Porsche 550 Spider and was meant to be small roadster with minimal weight and complexity. With roadsters sent into the oblivion because of the various regulations, the MX-5 with its modern technology would mark a return for them.

I don’t think such suggestions are true, but the only one thing I know for sure – Beetle is cool and it is the most well known cars in history. Both new VW Beetle and used VW Beetle are hot and popular.
